So recently, (and by recently I mean in the past week) I have binge-read an amazing book trilogy called Matched. (The three books are Matched, Crossed, and Reached)
This series by author Ally Condie is a dystopian romance centered around the "Society". I won't go fully into detail but basically a girl named Cassia follows along in the Society until she falls in love with someone she's forbidden to; Ky Markham. I'm going to go almost completely off topic and ask a question I've had for a very long time- what does Ky look like?
Whilst reading the book, hints and clues pointed to him being tanned and having brown skin. I imagined Ky having Sokka's (from Avatar: The Last Airbender) complexion with ruffled black hair. I know this is probably unrealistic also due to the fact Ky is mentioned with blue eyes, but hey, fuuuuuture. I noticed online that when I looked Ky up, many lighter actors showed up as possible roles for a Matched movie. Speaking of which, the movie is something I'm scared of, if I'm honest. The official Matched page on instagram said Disney is owning the movie which is a disappointment because Matched is a Young Adults read, not necessarily a kid friendly sappy movie.
Ally Condie claimed that she'd like Logan Lerman to portray Ky in a movie for Matched. This disappointed me even though I couldn't think of an alternate actor. I always thought of Ky to be this mysterious, brown kid with blue eyes because I mean, genetics must be weird in the future. Whatever happens I hope Ally succeeds with her movie and keeps the flame of Matched that is slowly dying to stay and never goes gentle into that good night.
